Composite Skill Lab
Our Composite Skill Lab represents DPS Gangtok’s commitment to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020’s vision of integrating vocational education with mainstream academics. The lab is equipped with workstations for carpentry and woodwork, an electronics and electrical workshop, a home science and cooking station, textile and stitching equipment, and gardening tools.
Vocational learning sessions in the Skill Lab help students discover practical talents and develop an appreciation for skilled work. Students learn to plan, measure, create and troubleshoot — developing problem-solving abilities, patience and attention to detail that complement their academic studies.
Our skill lab curriculum is age-appropriate and progressively structured, ensuring that every student from Class VI upwards has meaningful vocational experiences. Career guidance sessions, visits from skilled professionals and participation in national skill competitions further enrich the vocational learning journey at DPS Gangtok.
