On 3rd August 2026, Young Indian Culinary Championship 2026, organised by the CBSE, was held at Delhi Public School, Gangtok. It was a fabulous opportunity for our grade IX students to showcase their culinary skills, creativity and knowledge of the rich food heritage of India.
Our chefs in the Fire-Cooking category participated by combining abilities of cooking, creativity and traditional Indian cooking practices. The experience helped students discover the link between food, culture and regional traditions through active participation.
Congratulations to Nitika Bajaj and Hissey Ongmu Sherpa, who were selected to participate in Level II Regional Level from September–October 2026.
The championship was more than a culinary competition. Such events give students of DPS Gangtok an opportunity to explore and cultivate their skills outside the classroom. As one of the leading CBSE schools in Sikkim, DPS Gangtok believes in providing students with opportunities to learn through meaningful experiences across academics, arts, sports, culture and other areas of interest.
We congratulate all our young participants for their enthusiasm and effort and wish Nitika Bajaj and Hissey Ongmu Sherpa the very best for the Regional Level. We look forward to seeing our young chefs continue to learn, create and make DPS Gangtok proud!
